Aria is a collection conceived by Ronan Bouroullec for Mutina to create visual scores on the wall. Composed of thin rods connected by small circular elements, the collection enriches the new strand of Mutina products

As the name suggests, Aria (“air” in Italian) introduces a new way of inhabiting emptiness, allowing the wall to breathe through an open and flexible grid that gives depth and rhythm to the space.

The collection is made up of two shaped rods—2.6×29 cm and 2.6×12.8 cm—and a circular element (Ø 4.2 cm). All pieces are made of unglazed porcelain stoneware (UGL), crafted using full-body coloured clays. The circular element (Button) and the two rods (Strip S and Strip L) are available in five shades: White, Chalk, Earth, Arctic, Olive.

The combination of the two rods with the circular element allows for endless configurations, which, working in synergy with wall paints, create intriguing plays of light and shadow. This is possible in both indoor and outdoor settings, thanks also to the high technical performance of the full-body porcelain stoneware. As with another Mutina range Adagio, Aria must be applied directly onto the finished wall surface to ensure proper adhesion.
